Videoslots Swedish licence extended to five years on appeal

Online casino operator Videoslots has been awarded a five-year licence for the Swedish market, following an appeal. This means that the brand will be able to continue accepting players here until 2023 at least.

Staying north for longer

To begin with, Videoslots was offered a two-year licence last December. However, it chose to contest this decision and the Swedish authorities were on-board with their appeal. Alexander Stevendahl, the company’s CEO, said:

“Videoslots is firmly committed to keeping gambling both safe and fun, and this has been recognised with the full five-year period of our Swedish licence.

“Player safety across all our markets is always our priority and this news is very welcome, due to the growth we are seeing in the Swedish market.”

Growing far and wide

In addition to Sweden, Videoslots operates in neighbouring country Denmark. It’s also present in Malta, Spain and the United Kingdom.

A couple of months ago, the the casino brand also announced a deal with Betradar. This was with its Managed Trading Services (MTS) division. The partnership was part of Videoslots’ preparations to enter the sports vertical next year.

Convenience for all

The licence extension offers long-term stability. As such, Videoslots can continue strategising for the Swedish market over the coming years.

Players will also keep benefitting from the operator’s convenient player verification technology. Before it went live in the Scandinavian nation, the casino integrated the BankID electronic ID solution. Through this, the time taken to validate players’ identification is reduced. Around eight million people in Sweden use this bank-developed feature, which is available across mobile, laptop and tablet devices. The country has a total population of just over 10 million.

Affiliates

The news is also good for affiliates with Swedish traffic, who can continue to promote the brand. The Videoslots affiliate program offers a progressive cost-per-acquisition (CPA) structure, ranging from €10 to €30. These depend on the number of players attracted per calendar month.

Affiliates can also earn between 25% and 45% revenue share, again based on how many new players are driven each month.
