Sportradar signed a partnership with the Austrian Football Federation

Global sports data and betting services provider Sportradar Integrity Service signed a six-year partnership with the Austrian Football Federation (ÖFB), to monitor and safeguard the integrity of its domestic football competitions.

The world leader supplier

Sportradar Integrity Services is a non-profit unit within the Sportradar Group and self-proclaimed world’s leading supplier of sports integrity solutions for sports governing bodies, clubs, private organisations and more to support them in the fight against betting-related match-fixing, doping and other integrity threats.

The list of clients utilising the firm’s services to uphold and protect the integrity of their sports tournaments is expanding. Most recently, the provider signed agreements with the General Directorate National Police of Bulgaria to protect and maintain the integrity of sports in the country and with the West Asian Football Federation.

Commenting on the agreement, Dr. Thomas Hollerer, ÖFB General Secretary said: “We recognize that match-fixing and other integrity issues present a clear and present danger in today’s sporting landscape and the ÖFB takes its obligations to this matter very seriously”.

“The conditions and challenges created by the Covid-19 pandemic has led to a heightened level of risk across global football and strong integrity measures are needed now more than ever”, added Andreas Krannich, Managing Director Sportradar Integrity Service.

How does it work?

Under the deal, Sportradar agreed to monitor over 700 matches per season from the Austrian Regional Leagues, using its bet monitoring solution, the Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS).

Using the UFDS, a team of integrity experts will analyse irregular betting patterns and report any suspicious matches to partners, providing essential visibility into worldwide match-fixing.

The firm declares to have detected over 500 suspicious matches across global sport last year, with over 5,400 suspicious matches reported in the past 15 years

“By working with Sportradar Integrity Services to monitor our competitions through its UFDS solution, we will have valuable oversight of global betting markets offered on our games”, said Hollerer.
