Skyrocket Entertainment expands base of operation after acquiring The Games Company

Skyrocket Entertainment, the Gambling film and media brand rights entity has expanded its base of operation after acquiring independent casino games studio The Games Company.

With the online casino games provider currently counting a product portfolio of ten titles, including Hippie Chicks, Cash Cowboy and Super 7 Wilds, with games available in the UK and markets served from Gibraltar with several new launches scheduled for later in 2019.

Sean O’Kelly, Skyrocket CEO, commented on the purchase: “We’re incredibly excited by our acquisition of The Games Company, which represents a major milestone for Skyrocket.

“TGC has a proven track record for developing and rolling out online games – it also has a pipeline of new integration opportunities and partnerships with online gaming operators, so it’s primed to expand recurring revenue.

“We’re looking forward to working with Hans and the talented team at TGC to integrate Skyrocket’s existing brands and IP. All of this strengthens Skyrocket’s offering and reach and sets us up for rapid growth.”

The deal was brokered by O’Kelly and fellow co-founder Richard Clarke, together with BlockChain Innovations Corp’s CTO and director Morris Mosseri.

Following from the result of the deal Hans Winkelmann, TGC co-founder, will now be working alongside Skyrocket’s senior management team as CPO to implement a revitalised business operations strategy.

The deal also sees Skyrocket acquire 100 per cent of the shares in TGC and the Remote Gaming Server from Black Cow Technology.

Winkelmann said: “I’m delighted to find a suitable owner for TGC, which will leverage the integrations and relationships which have been built over the last period. Looking forward to bringing Skyrocket’s library of media assets and brand content to market.”

While being launched at last year’s Cannes Film Festival, Skyrocket Entertainment is aiming to corner what has been called “a gap in the market,” by migrating iconic Hollywood feature films and branded intellectual property rights into the worldwide gambling and social gaming sector.

Clarke added: “We are excited to have TGC aboard Skyrocket – this will significantly help broaden our reach in delivering exciting and standout games using our exclusive media rights through TGC’s certified Remote Gaming Server and existing partnerships.”
