Rush Street Interactive to launch first mobile sports betting app in Indiana

Rush Street Interactive is set to launch the first mobile sports betting app based in Indiana after being granted authorisation from the Indiana Gaming Commission.

Rush Street will now be able to launch its mobile product in the state from 3 October. The app also be launching in partnership with Lick Casino, where Rush Street has operated sports wagering activities since 6 September.

Although mobile sports betting in Indiana became legal on the first of September, the same date as retail, no operator has then been able to launch a mobile platform until now. The commission stated that Rush Street’s app however, meets all the requirements of the state’s sports betting law.

The commission said: “Rush Street has substantially demonstrated to the satisfaction of the commission that its mobile sports wagering operation meets the requirements of Indiana Code Article 4-38, the commission’s emergency regulations and all commission directives related to sports wagering activity.

Rush Street Interactive has launched two differently-branded apps in its native Pennsylvania with BetRivers and PlaySugarHouse, through the SugarHouse-branded offering is to be brought under the Rivers brand.

As French Lick Casino announced when the retail partnership was revealed, the Indiana launch will be of the BetRivers brand. The BetRivers app has also been launched in the state of Iowa.

Earlier this week (24 September), Rush Street Gaming has revealed the details of a casino in Waukegan, Illinois, which it stated could generate $5m for the city and local communities over the five rival casino bids from other operators on the same site.
