Ray Parlour, ComeOn: The importance of brand ambassadors in affiliate marketing

During this year’s London Affiliate Conference (LAC), Affiverse sat down with Arsenal legend Ray Parlourwho was representing ComeOn.
‘The Romford Pelé’ gave us some insight into his partnership with the sportsbook and casino operator, in which he largely contributes his footballing expertise in a series of blogs.
During the chat, we touched on Arsenal’s chances in the Premier League title race, whether ‘The Invincibles’ would stand a chance against the current Manchester City team, and settled a longstanding office debate on who’s better: Sergio Aguero or Thierry Henry.
Brand ambassadors are being increasingly used by marketers to both establish and engage with audiences, with companies now tending to allocate significant funds towards celebrity endorsement of their products.
Footballing legends such as Parlour can be incredibly useful in attracting traffic to a brand’s website and social media – affiliates who ignore the strategy will find themselves lagging behind others who are more innovative in their approach.
ComeOn announced a content-based deal with online gaming content developer Stakelogic back in January.
At this year’s Digital Marketing Forum, we will be discussing the best way to engage an audience using all the right social media platforms, looking to debunk the myths surrounding the complexities of engaging an audience effectively. Register here.
