PointsBet enters Indiana mobile sports betting scene

Australian operator PointsBet has expanded its US footprint, launching its mobile sportsbook in Indiana.

The brand will be present in this state via its PointsBet Indiana entity.

Another new state

Indiana will be PointsBet’s third US state, having already launched its services in New Jersey and Iowa.

Johnny Aitken, PointsBet US Chief Executive, shared his thoughts on the company’s latest expansion. These were as follows.

“The PointsBet team is excited to share that we are now officially live in Indiana – our third state of operation.

“We look forward to providing the sports-loving community in the Hoosier State with the fastest, premium sports betting product they deserve.”

Further expansion planned

In addition to Indiana, PointsBet recently obtained permission to operate in Colorado. This was via a partnership with the Double Eagle Casino in Cripple Creek. The licence will allow for one online sports betting skin, in addition to land-based offerings.

But the sportsbook isn’t done yet – Kansas is also on the horizon. PointsBet has penned an exclusive primary skin agreement with Kansas Crossing Casino, located in this state. Through this, PointsBet will be able to offer online and retail sports betting here – if it gains a licence.

The latest sportsbook to enter Indiana

PointsBet is the latest high-profile sportsbook to enter Indiana, following in the footsteps of BetMGM. The latter of these was approved to offer mobile sports betting on a permanent basis at the end of February.

Like PointsBet, BetMGM is also present in three US states – with New Jersey being one of them. The other is West Virginia.

DraftKings is another major operator present in the Hoosier State, having launched a mobile and online sportsbook in October 2019.

Affiliate sites, such as sports content publisher Covers Media, are also present within Indiana.
