Phillip Easthill steps down as Secretary General of European Casino Association

Phillip Easthill has stepped down as secretary general of the European Casino Association (ECA), while the organisation has also announced a new structure which will be put in place for its secretariat.

After officially leaving his role of September 1, Easthill led the ECA for the past three years. He will now be taking up the same position at the Marine Leisure industry body, European Boating Industry with immediate effect.

During his tenure as secretary general, Easthill focused on key industry issues such as tackling illegal gambling, anti-money laundering along with corporate social responsibility, as well as improving the perception of the licensed land-based casino sector.

ECA chair Per Jadlung said: “During his time at the ECA, Mr Easthill showed high levels of professionalism bringing the interests of ECA’s members and partners forward with commitment and dedication, achieving our goals and positioning the association as a key stakeholder.

“He leaves the ECA in a very strong position for future growth. While he will be missed, we believe that he will be a true asset for the European Boating Industry. We now look forward to advancing the good work and further defending and promoting the interests of our sector.”

Continuing on from Easthill’s departure, the ECA will now be implementing a new structure for its secretariat. Veronika Tisold will now be acting as its executive director, with support coming from Austria’s corporate social responsibility offer Hermann Pamminger who has now been names as senior advisor.
