PayPal removed as payment option for German-facing GVC brands

GVC Holdings has removed PayPal as a payment option for its German-facing casino brands. Coming into place today, GVC affiliate partners were first informed of this change after an email was circulated by the firm.
The supplier has not provided any information as to why it has decided to remove PayPal as a payment method, but Casino News Daily, the site that first broke the story, pointed to Germany’s “complicated online gambling regulatory situation”.
The development comes as GVC announced a second multi-year extension to its already existing B2B supply agreement with Danish state owned gambling operator, Danske Licens Spil (DLS)The group has supplied online gaming and poker content to DLS since the Danish market first became regulated in 2012.
GVC Head of Client Services Ian Turnbull commented: “Having supplied poker and casino games to DLS since 2012 we are thrilled to extend our relationship once again. Danske Licens Spil is the clear market leader in Denmark and we are delighted to be their long-term partner of choice.”
Søren Schneider, Director of Product Management at Danske Licens Spil, added: “Danske Licens Spil has been a strong market leader in the liberalised Danish market since 2012. One of the reasons for our continual growth is our strong relationship with the GVC Group.
“With access to their casino and poker platforms combined with our joint exclusive content development it was a logical decision to extend our relationship for three more years.”
