Norwegian casinos introduced new limits

New limits and regulations have been introduced for Norwegian casinos. Online gambling is legal in this country, but is heavily restricted and regulated. New measures seek to make it a safer environment for players, especially when considering the rise in online players we have seen in the past year.

The first brand to introduce changes was Norsk Tipping. They reduced the daily loss limits of their games down to NOK2K (approx. £173.31).

They have also opted to introduce a time out period of 15 minutes per hour of gameplay, as opposed to just 90 seconds. Finally, they have also removed the “popular” tags from their games.

All of this comes in addition to the team at Norsk Tipping using their tools to monitor the existing measures that are in place and attempting to come up with further changes if needed.

There are other changes moving in across the industry too. Any Norwegian poker fan will find themselves unable to place deposits on PartyPoker sites for the foreseeable future, though they are able to make withdrawals.

Many of the parent companies of these brands are choosing to limit their operations in similar ways to this, so we might see further changes not just in the Norwegian casinos but further afield too.

Affiliate managers with ties to these brands need to be aware of how these changes might affect both them and their players, so they can make changes to their program as needed to support them in this time.
