Interwetten Super League

Interwetten named as new main sponsor of the Greek Super League

Online sports betting operator Interwetten has been named as the official new sponsor of the Greek Super League

The sportsbook has signed a three-year deal with Greece’s top footballing division, which was won last season by Olympiakos

Interwetten had already been making major moves elsewhere in Europe, having recently extended two German Bundesliga partnerships.

The operator had also already been partnered with the league prior to this deal, having been its exclusive sports betting partner last season.

“It is our aim to offer customers the best product on the market”

Through its new and bigger deal with the Greek top-flight, naming rights have been obtained. As such, the league will now be known as the “Super League Interwetten” for the duration of the partnership. The play-offs will also be sponsored by the company.

On top of the above, the operator’s logo will be integrated with that of the division. Moreover, Interwetten will benefit from having its logo placed on match balls and on various signage throughout stadiums.

Interwetten Speaker of the Board Dominik Beier spoke about the new deal and how it feeds into the company’s broader international strategy. He said the following.

“Greece is and remains a very important market for us. Therefore, we want to continue to invest in sports here and expand our position.

“The naming right of the Greek Super League is the most valuable sports partnership that exists in Greece. It is our aim to offer our customers the best product on the market.

“The fact that we have succeeded in acquiring this extremely valuable partnership underlines this approach. The Super League opens up a multitude of communication and activation opportunities for us throughout the country as well as throughout the entire year.”

Building on its presence elsewhere

In Germany, Interwetten is one of the best-known sports betting operators. It recently continued to grow its presence in said market, extending its partnerships with VfL Wolfsburg and TSG Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga

Both of these deals were extended until the end of the 2022/2023 season. For its sponsorship with Wolfdsburg, in-stadium and digital branding will both be provided. Meanwhile, the operator’s deal with Hoffenheim will include an advertising presence on TV and cam carpets – plus more.
