Reasons to invest in online courses

Here’s why you should invest in courses during Covid-19

If you’re like half of the world right now, you’re probably stuck at home now. The chances are that you’ll likely be getting bored being at home all day.

So what are you doing in your spare time? For many all forms of entertainment has come from the Internet. We’re all on it but since you’ve got more time on your hands than usual, you might as well use it now for the power of good.

Now is a great time to start looking at self development and attending online courses. Many people already have in other industries. Virtual cooking classes are popular, while the language-learning app Duolingo has seen a 148% spike in sign-ups according to an article published on Business Insider. Even AirBnB is offering an “experiences” service now to help their community learn.

We did a quick poll on our social channels to ask Affiliate and Digital Marketers what they are investing in and a whopping 67% of you said you were not investing in any self development or online learning at this time. As somebody within affiliate or digital marketing – you lead busy work lives. You have a golden opportunity now to take a few moments and go learn something new. You also should be thinking about how to move your career, your business, your affiliate program forward.

This is an overwhelming time, you are probably thinking about how to keep yourself afloat right now but keep an open mind, take a seat and grab some popcorn, because we’re about to tell you why NOW is the time to invest in your learning.

Take advantage of lower or eliminated costs

To build long-term affiliate and customer relationships, many businesses are either lowering the price of their services or offering something for free right now.  We’ve discounted our media packages, training and offered FREE networking and connection services to all our readers to help you to get SEEN and HEARD.

Education is about looking at the future. Many of us are stuck in the now. We talked about this on our Pivot don’t Panic call. It’s time to get over that mindset and look at your future, how will you be coming out of isolation and moving your career and business forward?

Needless to say, you need to invest in yourself if you want to be successful in the long-term. So why not do that, but save a bit of money at the same time? You’ll thank yourself that you did once this is all over.

Get ahead of your competition

Even if you’re not bringing in new business right now, you can still get ahead of the competition. Why? Because a lot of people are feeling sorry for themselves, using up their food rations and binge watching Netflix. But you aren’t doing any of that, because you’re smart.

Online courses are a great way to pass any extra time that you have, where you might be tempted to open Instagram and scroll through the same posts for half-an-hour. Oh, and you’ll be getting away from hearing the same news stories every day – thus boosting your mood.

There will be people who come out of this situation stronger and it’ll be the ones who got stuff done. Make sure that you’re one of those individuals and feed your brain with useful information.

Channel your emotions to improve your mindset in a positive manner

Say that you no longer have to commute for two hours every day, now have a regular sleeping pattern and have been exercising each morning. You’ll probably find that you’ve got more energy, too. That extra kick can be used for more productive tasks.

Investing in online courses will not just make sure that you’re getting the best use out of your time, but also cure boredom. Say you complete one course each week and the lockdown lasts for another eight weeks – you could have learned eight new skills by then. Isn’t that better than playing eight online rounds of Call of Duty each day?

Final thoughts

Things are strange right now, but you’re having plenty of opportunities thrown at you too. Either you’re seeing those, or you aren’t. That’s entirely up to you.

Online courses will both bring you more opportunities and make you more likely to identify the existing ones. If you’re going to spend money on yourself, you might as well do it when things cost less. And compared to before, you’ll have more time to really soak in (and practice) what you learn.

Right now, a lot of people are choosing not to take action. So, by taking even basic action,  you’ll find that you’re well ahead of them when we’re all allowed into the big wide world again.

The choice is yours – pick the right one and start investing in yourself today. Get in touch with us to find out about all our latest workshops, MasterMinds, and training and how to level up during this time.
