Online gambling operator Caravel Entertainment will expand into the Portuguese market, having received two new licences. Along with sports betting, the brand will also be able to offer games of chance.
After having its applications approved by the Portuguese Gambling Commission, Caravel will launch its Moosh brand here. Players will be able play against the operator with regard to sports betting. Meanwhile, the likes of roulette and blackjack will be offered as games of chance.
Cavarel’s expansion
The above games will soon be accessible via the Moosh.pt web domain. Caravel will join 11 other operators in the Portuguese market. These include 888, Beclic Everest Group and The Stars Group.
As of now, there isn’t much information online about the operator. But according to the company’s LinkedIn page, Caravel was founded in 2017 and is based in Malta.
Moosh.pt will feature a curated selection of games from various suppliers, including NetEnt and and iSoftBet. Furthermore, its sportsbook platform will be powered by SB Tech.
The Portuguese iGaming market
Portugal has yet to release its Q3 2019 statistics. However, its results for the second quarter of this year indicate continued progress.
Just as it did in Q1 2019, Portuguese iGaming broke its revenue records. €48.3 million was generated in Q2, equivalent to £40.8m/ $53.5m.
During the first three months of this year, operators in the Iberian country €43.7m.
