BF Games moves into Romania after securing licensing

BF games has now become the most recent firm to set its sights on Romania after securing their latest licensing green-light to enter the jurisdiction.

Coming after the approval from the Romanian gambling regulator ONJN, the games development studio now adds to current licences held in Malta, the UK and Latvia, as well as a land-based gaming permit in Montenegro.

Through receiving a supplier licence in Romania, the firm is now able to provide its portfolio to the country’s online operators for the first time. This has come after a successful period of offering its land-based slot machines in the country.

As a result, licensed online operators across the country now have the ability to enjoy full access to BF Games’ slot collection, including new titles such as Fibonacci, Book of Goods and Ramses Rising, as well as Bonnie and Clyde, Crystal Mania and Stunning Hot.

Both suppliers and operators are now required to obtain a licence in Romania, where online  gambling has now been legal since 2016. BF Games’ Class II licence, which is  issued by the regulator enables it to sign strategic partnerships with certified operators, and supply its content to Romanian players.

The organisation, which distributes content from its remote gaming server directly, now stresses that it has received a lot interest from licensees in the market and is expected to announce partnership deals shortly.

Piotr Szpoton, CEO at BF Games, commented: “We are always looking to extend our reach and as Romania is a mature market, obtaining a new licence here demonstrates our confidence in the market as well as our products.

“Three years ago, we entered the Romanian land-based market offering our slot-machines through and exclusive partnership, and after seeing the positive results and the interests in our offering, we decided to enter the online vertical as well.”

Earlier this month BF Games entered into a duo of new content-based agreements, with Oryx Gaming and PlayFortuna both taking on-board its suite of igaming content.
