Betsson reiterates stance on diversity and inclusion

Betsson Group AB has continued its commitment to diversity and inclusion by becoming a founding member of the All-In Diversity Project.

This latest development builds on the diversity-focused initiatives it is already a part of.

Although headquartered in the Swedish capital, Betsson also has eight other offices and over 1,800 employees.

Committing to the cause

The All-In Diversity Project was launched in 2017 and is designed to promote diversity and inclusion within the online gambling industry.

Since it was launched, a variety of industry-wide initiatives have been launched. One of these is the #opendoors campaign, which was announced in January 2020.

Betsson Group’s Chief HR Officer, Lena Nordin, shared her thoughts on the company’s strive to promote inclusivity. These were as follows.

“We are an inclusive company and with 1,800 staff members across nine offices, we have the track record to prove it. With 57 nationalities from 5 different continents, 40% women and 60% men, spread across four generations, Betsson Group is indeed a melting pot of different experiences, backgrounds and ideas.

“Partnerships with like-minded partners, such as the All-In Diversity Project, allows us to achieve greater diversity and inclusion not only within our company, but also within the wider industry.”

Other Betsson initiatives

Earlier this year, Betsson introduced ‘DIB’ (Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging). And in February, the Women in Betsson (WiB) network was established. This aims to build a platform where female empowerment and equality in iGaming are given more awareness.

The group has also received recognition for its workplace culture. At the 2020 International Gaming Awards, it won ‘Great Place to Work’.

Last year, Betsson won ‘Company of the Year’ in the Women in Gaming Diversity Awards. Moreover, the operator was named ‘Employer of the Year’ at the 2019 EGR Awards.

Nordin continued by saying the following.

“At Betsson we cherish the fact that every individual is unique. A focus on Diversity allows us to recognise those individual traits, whilst Inclusion is all about embracing the differences between us.

“We practice inclusion by ensuring that everyone feels welcomed and respected and this creates a sense of Belonging to the Betsson family.”

Kelly Kehn, Co-Founder of the All-In Diversity Project, also shared her thoughts on Betsson. These are below.

“Betsson is the kind of company who leads by example and we are pleased to welcome them as Founding Members. They are leaders in so many areas and their approach to Diversity & Inclusion is no different.

“Industry collaboration and support is so important when working towards change and this point is made especially significant during COVID-19. We are happy to be partnered with and supported by Betsson.”
