Amelco sets for launch in Pennsylvania after being awarded licence

Sports betting software and trading services provider, Amelco, is set to enter the Pennsylvania sports betting market after being awarded a license in the state.

Amelco USA was established in 2018 after the repeal of PASPA, in an effort to provide a focused US approach as various states enable legislation for retail and mobile sportsbook offerings.

The company is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, with a satellite office in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Amelco can now offer their products in Pennsylvania after officially being granted a conditional sports wagering manufacturer licence.

Based in the UK, the supplier has added that it is also in the process of securing a system certification from various US test agencies and will also be announcing additional sports wagering partnerships ahead of the upcoming NFL season.

Paul Manning, Amelco’s chief executive, said the approval in Pennsylvania – one of the most populous states in the US – was a landmark for the supplier’s North American arm.

“I am delighted to confirm regulatory approval from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board,” he said. “This is a major milestone in terms of Amelco’s growth, and for the US, represents yet another landmark achievement as part of our extensive plans for expansion.

“We look forward to announcing plenty more news in regard to US launches in the months to come.”

After already being licensed in New Jersey, Amelco powers sports betting through long-term partner, The Stars Group. This week Fox Bet replaced the operators BetStars brand in the New Jersey market, and is soon set to launch in Pennsylvania.
