Affiliate Drive Time – Getting ready for lead gen

For many affiliate managers, networking events can be extremely crucial when it comes to lead generation and recruitment of new affiliates. So, how do you perform these tasks when most of the biggest industry events were cancelled or moved online last year?

We are still facing a bumpy 2021 with no live events taking place just yet. There is little to help us with new affiliate recruitment and lead generation for program growth. Understandably, many in the industry are looking for new solutions to help rectify this issue.

We ran a quick poll to see what affiliate managers would be focussing on this year to grow their programs and improve sales and revenue delivery. The majority of respondents said that they would look for more affiliates, rather than expanding or culling inactive affiliates. Check out the results below:

Now that we are getting into the swing of things in 2021, its time to get lead gen ready with your using social media. That’s what we’re talking about in this week’s Affiliate Drive Time.

Watch the video then read on below and take this week’s action…

Here are some of our top tips to help you get lead gen ready with your social profile optimisation.

Customise your personal profile with your company branding

When you are active online, your profile picture follows you everywhere so make it work to represent you and your business professionally. You should also use the headers and design spaces to reflect your branding across all social channels.

Write a compelling summary

Your summary should be short and to the point. It should include details on who you are, what you do and who you solve pain points for. It helps to use bullet points for key actions and call outs. Don’t forget to write for your audience, not for yourself.

For example: “I help gaming affiliates earn” works better than having something like “Affiliate Manager – iGaming”

Be open to new connections

When it comes to connections on social channels like LinkedIn, you need to get creative. Think carefully about the 6 degrees of separation between you and someone else. Find some time to connect with as many interesting people as possible. This way, you can share and meet their audiences too!

Post engaging content

Content matters on social media so you need to make sure that it is engaging. Talk with people rather than at them. Ask questions, give opinions, publish interesting content and give feedback. Try to engage, rather than sell.

Posting regularly is really important as it takes at least 30 days to build a rhythm on most social algorithms. If you post at the same time, each day and like and engage with others, you’ll start to feature.

Push boundaries…

It goes without saying that without physical events, many are lost. Now is the time that you need to use social to push boundaries in order to find and engage new partnerships. These may be solely virtual now, but there is always the opportunity to meet at events in the future, with a connection already there.
