ACMA

ACMA has blocked four unlicensed gambling websites

Four more offshore gambling websites have been blocked by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA). They have requested that internet service providers block access to these sites so that anyone within Australia is unable to access them. This comes as the ACMA clamps down on illegal activity in Australia.

The latest sites to be blocked

The ACMA has recently completed some investigations that found that four more sites were in breach of the 2001 Interactive Gambling Act. The sites in question were Gibson Casino, Viggoslots, Always Vegas and Malibu Club Casino.

Players at these sites have been urged by the ACMA to withdraw any funds that they have deposited before it is too late. It won’t be long before all internet service providers remove any access to these sites.

Creating a safer market

These four sites are the latest in a long list of casinos to be blocked by the ACMA. The first blocking took place back in November 2019 and there has been a total of 180 sites blocked since then.

In addition to sites being blocked by this organisation, many operators have pulled out of the Australian market in a bid to avoid any issues.

The ACMA is clearly not pulling any punches and operators within this region should be made aware of all regulations set out in the 2001 Interactive Gambling Act. If they aren’t following the rules, they could face being blocked from the region altogether.

This is important for both operators and affiliates hoping to target the Australian audience.
