A recap of the 2019 SBC Awards

The SBC Awards are over for another year, after the iGaming industry gathered to celebrate one another’s achievements in London last night.

A record 34 companies won at least one award at the ceremony. The event was hosted by TV presenter Kirsty Gallacher, as well as ex-footballer Ruud Gullit.

Affiliate categories

Better Collective was named Sports Affiliate of the Year, adding to the six other accolades won during this awards season. The Copenhagen-headquartered company also won Sportsbook Affiliate of the Year at last week’s Malta Gaming Awards.

In the casino category, Catena Media picked up the Casino Affiliate of the Year award. The company wants to become the world’s number one high-value online lead generator by 2021, and their work within this particular sub-sector hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Meanwhile, 1XBET came out on top for Best Affiliate Product Innovation.

Other winners

LeoVegas was one of the popular brands among voters in multiple categories. In addition to retaining Casino Operator of the Year, the Stockholm-listed operator also received a prize for Innovation in Casino Entertainment.

In other gaming areas, Trustly was named Payment Innovation of the Year and Payment Solution of the Year. Stoiximan / Betano Group won Rising Star for sports betting. The sportsbook will look to build on that success at next month’s inaugural Greek Bookmakers Awards.

Speaking about last night’s event at Battersea Evolution, SBC Managing Director Andrew McCarron said: “The operational excellence, innovation and commitment to driving up standards demonstrated by the award winners and shortlisted companies is a really positive sign for the future of the industry. We’re excited to see what further developments they come up with in 2020.”
