“A huge amount of opportunity”: Making the most of SiGMA

We catch up with SiGMA Head of PR Denis Dzyubenko, to find out how affiliates can make the most of the Maltese igaming conference, which starts next Wednesday.

Affiverse: Hi Denis! Firstly, can you introduce some of the event’s key speakers and outline what affiliates should be looking out for?

Denis Dzyubenko: The flagship show will host a plethora of conferences and workshops, several of which will focus on the evolution of the industry from a broader perspective, with highlights including a look at pan-African regulation, gaming law and a special focus on blockchain. Industry leaders, such as Brock Pierce, AI guru, Angelo Dalli and Malta Gaming Authority CEO, Heathcliff  Farrugia, join a star-studded list of speakers who will add their know-how to the fray.

Attendees can also expect a packed expo floor and exciting activities, such as SiGMA Pitch, where startups will compete to score invites to networking events and reel in potential funding and mentoring from industry veterans as well as a competitive-friendly Hackathon aimed at some of the most creative minds in the developer sphere.

AI: How can attending SiGMA give affiliates a boost as they look to partner with brands in the newly liberalised US market?

DD: SiGMA’s packed expo floor offers affiliates a huge amount of opportunity to meet like-minded individuals looking to initiate solid business partnerships. We’re welcoming 12, 500 through the door this year, which means there’s ample opportunity for networking to occur.

The expansion of the US market, especially in light of the repeal of PASPA will also come under the spotlight during the SiGMA conferences, facilitating an opportunity for valuable debate on the potential the developing market has to offer affiliates.

AI: With affiliate regulations changing all over the world, can you reveal what markets SiGMA will specialise in this year?

DD: SiGMA held three key events this year. Our two Affiliate Grand Slams hit both the Asian and European markets, finding success in Hong Kong and Kiev respectively. We also held the well-received, inaugural edition of Alpha Boot Camp in Buenos Aires, where we united LatAm operators with some of the best suppliers in the business.

AI: How prevalent a role will the topic of blockchain play at this year’s event?

DD: SIGMA will, for the second year running, feature a popular blockchain-themed conference, with the two spheres converging for a high-level discussion of the emerging tech and the possibilities it holds for iGaming.

SiGMA’s position as the premier purveyor of igaming events makes us perfectly placed to shine a light on the future of Malta’s new role as a haven for DLT and blockchain.

AI: There are a number of conferences, bootcamps and workshops throughout the calendar year that are aimed at affiliate marketers. Why should budding affiliates choose SiGMA over its competitors?

DD: SiGMA has consistently adhered to producing a show that focuses on quality. Whereas other events are looking to hog the limelight, SiGMA has always been clear that its mission is to shine a light on the industry rather than on itself – to provide a space for crucial debate to occur and to facilitate networking opportunities that allow for industry-shaking deals to take place.

Affiverse will be attending SiGMA next week. To arrange a meeting, contact Lee-Ann Johnstone on [email protected] or Natalie Lees on [email protected].
