888 looking to grow its US marketing team

888 is on the lookout for a new US marketing chief as it seeks to grow its presence further on these shores.

The position will be based in New Jersey. Whoever fills the role has the task of building a small marketing team for its new headquarters in the Garden State.

Growing in New Jersey

New Jersey has been in this market ever since 2013, when online gambling was regulated here. Along with its casino brand, 888 also offers poker and sports betting to players in this state.

Back in July, the operator also launched its Orbit gaming platform on these shores. Prior to this, it had been debuted in the UK. The software has also been rolled out in Denmark, Sweden and Italy. Through Orbit, 888 has aimed to reduce response times and create a system which is easy to navigate.

Other new offerings

The multi-vertical operator has been growing its online casino services, which at the moment forms a large chunk of its New Jersey revenue. Last week, it went live with casino games supplier and developer AGS. Various real-money games will be used on the 888 website, including Jade Wins and Olympus Strikes.

After the above deal was announced, AGS Executive Vice President Matt Reback said: “We are thrilled to have our high-performing games content available for 888’s 25 million registered casino users. This includes those in New Jersey.”

Online gambling in New Jersey

New Jersey’s most recent iGaming statistics highlight strong continued growth. Although Nevada is still ahead in sports betting, experts think that the northeasterly state might soon overtake it. It was mentioned that this vertical is growing at a rate of almost 100% year-on-year.

Online casino and poker both saw significant YoY increases in October 2019.

In other New Jersey online gambling developments, Yahoo launched its own sportsbook last month. It plans to roll this out elsewhere in the US soon.
